"The life of my old battery was about 3.5 years, normal for this application. When I installed the new battery, I still heard the ear-shattering squeal. Turned out, the black connector came loose as I stuffed the battery back into the UPS. Normally these type connectors are somewhat tight; these are not."

"The APC unit LS700VA has worked just fine for years. However, I'm not getting the 3-5 years of battery life expected. I'm ordering my 3rd battery after getting only 2-1/2 yrs on the original battery and 2-1/2 yrs on the replacement. That's disappointing."
